Chalet Tansoo...
With terraces overlooking the Mont-Blanc mountains, Chalet Tansoo promises a change of scenery and a chance to recharge your batteries whatever the season.
After exploring the mountains, you’ll be delighted to return to the spa area, which is shared with several other chalets and features an indoor swimming pool, a sauna and a steam room.
Chalet Tansoo is in the heart of Combloux, an unspoilt village in Haute-Savoie, just 5km from Megève, with access to the ski areas of Portes du Mont-Blanc (100km of pistes) and Évasion Mont-Blanc (445km of pistes). The Princesse cable car is just a 5-minute drive away.
Combloux, known as the pearl of Mont Blanc, has a small supermarket and several shops, as well as bars and restaurants. The neighbouring towns of Sallanches, Megève and Saint-Gervais offer many other options. A weekly market selling local produce is organised each Wednesday morning, where you can stock up on fresh produce and local specialities.
About the property…
Chalet Tansoo is a three-storey chalet that can accommodate 12 guests (10 adults) in six bedrooms, each with its own en-suite bath or shower room.
It is one of several chalets that share a spa area with an indoor swimming pool, steam room and sauna, as well as a bicycle store and an outdoor play area. Please note that the wellness area is open from 20 June to 5 September, and from the Christmas week to the ski resort's closing date.
The garden floor has four bedrooms – two double rooms and two with two single beds. Each has an en-suite bath or shower room with a toilet, and three bedrooms also open directly onto the garden.
On the ground floor, the spacious living area is bathed in light from the large windows. There’s a sitting area with sofas around a television, and a dining table where you can all eat together. The fully equipped kitchen has everything you need to cook for a crowd, and there’s a breakfast bar and a side table for six people. Doors open onto two terraces, furnished with tables, armchairs and sofas, where you can eat, relax and enjoy the mountain views.
On the first floor are the two remaining double bedrooms. The first has an en-suite bathroom with a toilet and a separate shower, whilst the second room has an extra single bed and a desk, as well as a shower room with a toilet.
On the practical side, the ground floor of Chalet Tansoo also has a utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer. There are televisions in all of the bedrooms.
About the area…
Combloux, a little-known gem nicknamed “the Pearl of Mont Blanc”, is located just a few kilometres from Megève and Saint-Gervais. With a lively centre and local shops, this resort combines the charm of a traditional Savoyard village, spectacular views of Mont Blanc and the Aravis mountains, as well as numerous activities for guests of all ages.
In winter, you can access the Évasion Mont-Blanc’s 400km of slopes with a single ski pass. There’s another 192km of pistes for all levels in the Espace Diamant, just a 30-minute drive away. Experienced skiers can ski the Vallée Blanche glacier in Chamonix, while non-skiers can enjoy snowshoeing or dog sledding.
During the rest of the year, you can explore the various hiking and biking trails of the area, or board the historic Mont-Blanc tramway for a less strenuous day out. Cool off in the ecological swimming lake in Combloux, or head to the Thermes de Saint-Gervais (12km) for spa treatments and pampering. Other activities include mountain biking, climbing, via ferrata and paragliding. Tennis courts are available just a 10-minute walk away, near the swimming lake.

Guest reviews
“Great Place to Stay!”
We've stayed with friends at this place twice, once in winter and once in summer and it was a great place to stay either as a base for skiing or for hiking and sightseeing round the alps.
The house is plenty big enough for 12 people and it has all creature comforts that you'd expect from a high quality property.
It's easy walking distance from Combloux centre where there are several bars and restaurants and it’s a reasonable drive to Megeve and Chamonix.
Overall, it’s a great place to stay with friends or family.
“We can’t wait to return!”
We’ve stayed at Chalet Tansoo several times over the years for skiing holidays and can highly recommend it.
Location
The chalet is just a short walk from the charming village of Combloux, which has a good selection of shops and restaurants. For larger grocery trips, Carrefour is only a couple of miles away. Each morning, parking at the Princess Chairlift was easy and there were always plenty of spaces.
We can also recommend renting skis from Signeur Sports. The staff are excellent, friendly, knowledgeable, and patient when fitting boots and skis. They took great care to ensure everything was comfortable and even allowed us to store our own boots there overnight, saving us the hassle of carrying them back and forth.
The Chalet
In a word "luxurious". The chalet feels more like a beautiful home than a simple rental. Every room is spacious and elegantly furnished, with en-suite bathrooms, large comfortable beds, and high-quality mattresses.
The main living area, with its grand dining table, cozy sofas, and large television, is a wonderful space to relax after a day on the slopes. We also enjoyed using the pool and sauna facilities shared with the neighboring chalets, and booked a mid-week massage each trip—a real treat. Underground parking was another plus, particularly on snowy mornings.
The Skiing
The Princess Chairlift is just a five-minute drive away, and we even walked there a few times. It provides great access to the entire Megève ski area. While the chalet isn’t ski-in/ski-out, we actually preferred staying in a proper village and making the short drive to the lift.
“Really recommend this chalet”
We love the ski resort so much that we came back in 2025 but the chalet was already busy so we rented another accommodation .
We then returned again in 2026 during the busy half term week of England but the slopes were fairly quiet and plenty of snow! This time we were 3 families in the chalet and 10 people.
We must say that we have not been for 3 years the chalet still looks brand new. The décor still the same and absolutely beautiful.
There are 2 dishwashers, 2 washing machines and 2 tumble dryer so if you need to wash something it’s possible.
There were a few improvements like the internet was much faster and the connection on 5G was better than ever all over the ski resort.
We went back to the Princesse chairlift where there is VIP ski rental and lockers . Seigneurs Sports is excellent as in the morning they help put your ski-boots on and take them off for you after a long day’s skiing. We love the service . And they keep the skis for free at night so no walking in ski boots on the tarmac.
If you need to use Uber if you don’t have a car. Each Uber trip is a flat fee of 20 euros and that includes to Megeve.
They just had a new supermarket Intermarché that opened but it’s a bit big and messy so we prefer the Carrefour 2 minutes further up in Megeve.
We used the swimming pool again and the sauna and the hammam. The sauna was very hot and after the day out in the snow it was lovely to warm up.
It was also the 6 Nations rugby so we were watching the match on the large TV all together as the sofas are huge and very comfortable.

From the owner
Alistair B.
We first came across Les Fermes du Mont Blanc back in 2018 when we bought the property off-plan after an extensive search for a traditional Alpine chalet.
What drew us to Combloux was its location, just an hour from Geneva Airport, and its easy connections to the wider Mont-Blanc ski area. When our children were younger, we used the regular free bus up to La Cry and now tend to drive just five minutes to the nearby Princesse lift with its large, free car park.
We particularly like the benefits of a quieter village setting with some excellent local restaurants, whilst still having the option to head into nearby Megève for a more lively evening out.
What we have come to appreciate just as much is how special it is outside the winter season. The swimming pool and water slide at Palais Megève, along with the beautiful Lac Biotope de Combloux, just a short walk away, make it a wonderful place to spend time in the summer.
Over the years, our family has enjoyed many holidays here with friends. We have tried to make Chalet Tansoo somewhere that feels both comfortable and easy to live in.
You can unwind in the living area or on the terrace after a day on the slopes or a long walk in the mountains, or stroll up to the pool area for a swim, sauna or even a massage.
It’s a special spot, combining convenience, scenery and a real sense of calm. We hope you enjoy it as much as we have and create your own memories here.
